The tragic massacre in Orlando is a perfect example of liberal hypocrisy and, in addition, a depressing demonstration of the ability of the left to inject squid ink into any discussion that would otherwise reflect negatively on their lunacy.

It is sobering to ponder the fact that 102 human beings were ruthlessly attacked at the Pulse night club in Florida.  Fifty two of those people were killed.  It is difficult to understand or rationalize the horror of the event.  But fear not…the party of Hilliary and Santa Sanders wasted little time in describing it as a “hate crime” as if the assault upon the victims could be described in any other way.  It would be a real stretch to call it a “love crime”.  In order to bolster the reflexive hate crime argument the left began the process of assigning the victims to various targeted demographic groups:  gay Blacks, Hispanic lesbians, one-legged Peruvian transvestites, Croatian cross-dressers, mentally challenged Tierra del Fuegans, mathematically challenged victims of the common core curriculum, etc.  You will note that two groups rarely appear on this list: Jews who, it is reported, are the victims of more than 50% of the hate crimes world-wide and Christians, including Coptic Christians, which appear on the EPA list of endangered species in the Middle East.  Attacks on the latter groups do not merit serious analysis by the progressive class.

One could almost feel the breathless anticipation of folks like Samuel L. Jackson who were hoping against hope that when the shooting stopped there would be one body found in the carnage that was a white, straight, Christian male, tea party participant, card carrying NRA member, wearing a Trump for President hat holding in his cold dead hands a Heckler & Koch (Brothers?) G36 assault rifle.

At this point there occurs one of those ho hum crasher moments that cause immediate and total intellectual paralysis on the left.  The shooter turns out to be a soulless Islamist plighting his troth to ISIS.  Now it takes acting skills worthy of a Streep or a De Niro to feign surprise at this development.  Once this fact was made known confusion became the order of the day on the left because our benighted President has made it crystal clear that soldiers of Jihad are, quite simply, incapable of hate.  As such we cannot possibly describe the event as a hate crime.

But hold on to your hats because it was then disclosed that the miserable excuse for a human being was, dare I say it, gay!  It is impossible to even imagine a hate crime perpetrated by a gay individual unless you are a Christian bakery owner specializing in wedding cakes.  Remember the scandal in the Catholic Church where it was discovered that priests had been, for some lengthy period, molesting young boys.  Missing from the vast majority of such reports was the obvious fact that it was GAY priests that were engaged in this pederasty.  It just didn’t seem to fit the story line.

At this point you have to feel sorry for the likes of Samuel L. who must slink back to their walled and gated residential enclaves to nurse their disappointment at this tragic turn of events.  Jackson has admitted that he has, on other occasions, actually hoped that it was a white that did the crime.  One has to appreciate the hypocrisy of progressive leaders like Mark Zuckerberg who build walls and gates to protect them from contact with the unwashed masses even as they attack Trump for wanting to build a wall at the border.

So now begin the excuses required to explain the actions of a gay, Islamic terrorist…did you ever imagine the possibility of such a conundrum? The excuses thus far presented make the explanation by a four year old child as to why the family couch is covered with chocolate syrup seem positively enlightened, almost scientific.  Our newly minted Attorney General (better described as the national HR manger) felt, in her very finite wisdom, that the conversations between the killer and the 911 team should be edited to exclude any reference to ISIS, jihad, Islam, any individual related directly or indirectly to Islamist theory or behavior, or any US Imam who may have been even tangentially involved in radicalizing this chap.  This effectively reduced the 28 minutes of 911 tapes to about 14 seconds.  If only he had claimed that the gun made him do it.  Listening to Ms. Lynch’s explanation of the redaction was so painful that one would not be too far out of line to wish for the return of Janet Reno, a blindingly incompetent Attorney General.

Now about that religion of peace argument that seems to be a staple of progressive “thinking”.  In 632 the Prophet Muhammad, PA system for Allah, made his farewell address (could this have been the inspiration for President George Washington’s amazing farewell address in 1796?…NOT!)  The Prophet said: “I was ordered to fight all men until they say ‘There is no god but Allah'”  It would not be an exercise in irrationality to reach the conclusion that the word fight does not mean debate, convince, cajole or request that all men to accept Allah.  Is it a stretch to think that word “fight” means, well, fight?  And if such is the case then our gay Islamist was, in fact, fighting for ISIS and following the directive from Muhammad himself.

When will the world acknowledge that there is a not insignificant segment of the Islamic population that does embrace the Wahhabist interpretation of Koranic and Islamic teaching?  When will the vast majority of Muslims stand up and oppose this militant strain of Islam?  I think we can conclude that it is highly unlikely that the progressives in the West will ever be able to reach that position.  Certainly that is true as long as our President is either unwilling or unable to identify the issue.  Keep your eye on the Brexit vote tomorrow…perhaps Europe can yet be saved from the fever swamp leftists that comprise the EU ruling class.

But always remember the observation by H.L Mencken that you will never go broke underestimating the intelligence of the typical voter.
