On June 16, 2015 Donald Trump announced, from the lobby at Trump Tower, that he would be running for President. That short escalator ride bent the curve of history and unleashed a campaign of mis and disinformation that has destabilized much of our political landscape.

Over the past ten years civil discourse has been on sabbatical and the American people have been divided to an extent not seen since 1860. The establishment wasted little time in vilifying Trump and his Make American Great Again supporters. The acronym MAGA became a four letter word and the obligatory demonization of the term by the Clintonistas would have made Pavlov proud. The Clinton campaign, with the aid of useful idiots such as Comey, Clapper and Brennan, concocted a Russian Collusion hoax based on the now discredited Steele Dossier. A host of fear inducing code words was weaponized as part of the media arsenal: Nazi, fascist, racist, white supremacist, the patriarchy, homophobia and misogyny became key elements of the lexicon of Twitter, Facebook and the various news media. The Left actually created a new word to heighten the outrage: transphobia. Outgoing President Obama was provided a number of one-liners so that he could ad lib his loathing of all things Trump in his public appearances.

With the tacit support of the Left violence has become the common currency of the so-called oppressed in the country. Luigi Mangione, a spoiled brat who never heard the word No during his upbringing, has been lionized by the shallow minds who reflexively support your local Democrats. There were two attempted assassinations during the 2024 campaign and even now the Left is seeking a new version of Gavrilo Princip because Thomas Crooks and Ryan Routh botched the simple task of murdering Trump. A recent poll found that 55% of young Democrats believed it was morally acceptable to kill the President.

We have been told repeatedly that Team MAGA is a group of Nazi street thugs who are bent on inflicting violence on all who oppose his administration. We have been assured that the LGBT community would be sent to reeducation camps and that the sexually confused would be targeted for elimination. Rosie O’Donnell and Ellen Degeneres fled the country after the 2024 election because they feared for their very lives. In 2022 Michael Bechloss a man of inflated ego and a self inflated IQ actually said: “Fifty years from now, if historians are allowed to write in this country and if there are still free publishing houses and a free press — which I’m not certain of — but if that is true, a historian will say what was at stake tonight and this week was the fact whether we will be a democracy in the future, whether our children will be arrested and conceivably killed.” It is hard to imagine that even a complete idiot like Jasmine Crockett would make such a statement. To the chagrin of CNN there have been no examples of any such persecution by MAGA Brown Shirts…unless, of course, you choose to believe Jussie Smollett,

The Left has unleashed domestic terrorists, such as the fascists of Antifa, to attack ICE and local law enforcement officials. These dime store thugs are armed, dangerous and not very bright…a lethal combination. They are supplied with preprinted signs, body armor, armored face masks and weapons such as frozen water bottles and baseball bats, which are delivered direct to the site of each “spontaneous protest”. Cheerleaders for Hamas can be found on every college campus. The Left calls openly for bloodshed and implores their followers to take a bullet for the team. The result in Minnesota was a senseless lethal attack on members of the state legislature.

Invariably every Leftist engaged in public commentary returns, like the swallows of Capistrano, to the bedrock of TDS…the contretemps that is known as J6. Incarcerating any illegal immigrant for more than 15 minutes causes a complete meltdown whereas keeping any Republican who was within 40 miles of the Capitol on January 6, 2021 in the hoosegow for years is perfectly acceptable.

The Inevitable Result of Political Instability

In 1858 Abraham Lincoln spoke at the Illinois State Republican Convention. He made two points that became his political platform:

“A house divided against itself cannot stand.”

“I believe this government cannot endure, permanently half slave and half free.”

Rhetorical question alert: Are we now at a point in our history that we need to revisit Lincoln’s warning about a house divided?

World War I

Christopher Clark wrote a fantastic book, The Sleepwalkers, describing how the world blundered into The Great War, aka World War I. It involved a series of international “accidents” and “misunderstandings” that resulted in the deaths of between 15 and 22 million combatants and about 20 million additional casualties. And it was triggered by the needless assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and that single gunshot destabilized the entirety of the Western world.. Thus the weak minded foot soldiers of the Left, like Luigi, are being “encouraged” to kill President Trump.

It is a worthwhile exercise in 2025 to speculate how such an act might destabilize the balance of peace throughout the world. Peace in the Middle East is no longer a pipe dream. Building on the Abraham Accords we are expanding the practice of co-existence. ISIS, Hezbollah and Hamas are being ground to dust and Midnight Hammer delivered a candy gram to the Ayatollah. We may be on the threshold of undoing one of the most destabilizing events in US presidential history…the decision by Carter to support the removal of the Shah and the return of the Ayatollah from exile in Paris.

The War Between the States

We are at a tipping point in America as evidenced by the drumbeat of accusations that Trump’s policies are a threat to our Constitution and it is regularly suggested that Trump is making “civil war” inevitable.

Slavery was, as Lincoln suggested in 1858, a fatal contradiction to the principles of our Declaration of Independence and Constitution. Today the Democrats have found a new “slavery” that they believe is another fatal contradiction…illegal immigration. After all who will pick our watercress, blow the leaves off our driveways and clean our toilets. These are jobs that they see as beneath the dignity of Americans who apparently thirst for lower wages and unemployment.

Another issue that caused the South to secede from the Union was the imposition of tariffs designed to protect the industries of the North. Such tariffs meant that products sold in the South were necessarily more expensive. The Tariff of Abominations, enacted in 1828, was hated in the South and there was talk of secession at that time in our history. Today the Trump tariffs have been widely and wildly criticized by economic geniuses such as AOC. Please ignore the fact that the Federal government had a SURPLUS in June because of those very tariffs.

The strength of the Northern economy was also a factor in the decision by the South to dissolve their ties with the North. That economy was, in the end, the decisive factor in the defeat of the Confederacy. That Trump is strengthening our economy does not sit well with those who seek a revolution against America and our Constitution.

Are we at that tipping point?

The policies of the Left are intended to destabilize the West and history should tell us that the results could be catastrophic.
