Mark Twain famously, and sardonically, observed that there are…Lies, damned lies and CNN. Which in turn validates the joke: What is the difference between a CNN anchor and a carp? The answer: One is a scum sucking bottom feeder and the other is a fish.
Following the Left wing media today is a tortuous journey. The capacity of the chattering class to avoid, misrepresent or throttle the truth in it’s cradle defies all logic and reason. Alas it has a long and rich history. The media have kept the Winston Smiths of the world laboring tirelessly for decades.
We are taught that General/President US Grant (R) was a corrupt drunkard which distracts us from his major civil rights accomplishments while he resided at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Grant supported and signed into law the Civil Rights Act of 1875. The law provided for equal treatment in public accommodations and public transportation and prohibited exclusion from jury service. The intent was to close gaps in the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments. It was the last civil rights law until 1957. Grant also took military action to suppress the Ku Klux Klan, aka the Democratic Party ethnic cleanup crew, which had been created by Democrat Nathan Bedford Forrest, The KKK went into hibernation for years as a result of Grant’s unsubtle response.
Fast forward to the administration of Dwight Eisenhower, also a Republican. Ike enforced the Brown v Board of Education decision, going so far as to send the 101st Airborne Division to Little Rock, Arkansas, to ensure that young Black students were allowed to attend a newly integrated high school. He also supported and signed into law the Civil Rights Acts of 1957 and 1960. In order to diminish Eisenhower’s record it was reported that he was “overheard” lamenting that Plessy v. Ferguson, the “separate but equal” decision, had been overturned by Brown. It never happened but the practice of attributing imagined, unconfirmed statements to damage a President is alive and well during the Trump years.

In the last decade we have witnessed a catalog of “news” stories that avoid inconvenient facts, trample on the truth and are protected by censorship. With the horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk it might be argued that the steady stream of name calling and “fake news” can incite violence. Accusing anyone you disagree with of being a Nazi, fascist, white supremacist, racist or homophobic (made up word), transphobic (ditto) or supporter of Gestapo tactics does not advance civil discourse…or worse…it leads directly to the likes of Luigi Mangione, Robert Westman and, now, Tyler Robinson.
We are now getting the truth about the so-called Russian Collusion Part Deux, confected in 2016. Where was the media during the original Russian Collusion, circa 1932 involving FDR and Uncle Joe Stalin? Up to their eyeballs in it. In 1932 Walter Duranty of the New York Times (act shocked) won the Pulitzer Prize for covering up Stalin’s enforced Ukraine famine which killed between 7 and 10 million Soviet citizens. Eugene Lyons, a Russian born journalist, full-throatedly joined Duranty in singing the praises of an Edenic Soviet Union. Not a peep from the main stream print outlets. The New York Times lived down to their masthead…All the news that fits, we print.
The Covid epidemic allowed the media to hone their disinformation skills. Disinformation as to the source of the virus, the actual impact of Covid, the proper medical response, the closing of businesses and schools and the infliction of untested vaccines on a misinformed populace was served up on a daily basis. Censorship became the tool of choice…The Great Barrington Declaration was hidden from the public, medical experts had their social media accounts shut down if they failed to toe the party line and Anthony Fauci was deified despite his history of medical chicanery and his inability to accept even the mildest of criticisms. Sweden disregarded all of the Faucian prescriptions and suffered less adverse impact than the US or other countries in the EU. This, however, is a closely guarded secret. Note that Saint Anthony has the same public presence today as D.B. Cooper.
During the 2024 election cycle the Department of Labor Statistics overstated “new” jobs created by 911,000. It was intended to bolster the electoral prospects of first Biden and then his stunt double Kamala Harris. It also allowed the Federal Reserve’s chief hooplehead Jerome Powell to keep interest rates high. The media are outraged that Team Trump has fired the bureaucratic author of this fraud.
On August 22 a 23 year old Ukrainian refugee was brutally murdered on a commuter train in Charlotte. This evil act was kept from the public until early September when the video of the crime went viral. The Democrat mayor of Charlotte went right to the heart of the matter, complaining that there were too many cameras on the train thereby confirming her skill at tweezing the fly crap out of the pepper.
The media have no problem instilling fear in an unsuspecting society. Trump is accused of “disappearing” people which certainly sounds ominous. This is reminiscent of the Soviet policy of sending dissidents to their version of Club Med…Siberia. Most were never heard from again. Read Solzhenitsyn for a first hand description of the life of the disappeared. Soon the press will be demanding to know Trump’s whereabouts when Judge Crater and Jimmy Hoffa were “disappeared”.
The press also works diligently to inflame racial conflict. The story of Michael “Hands up Don’t Shoot”, Brown is a perfect example. Brown had just robbed a convenience store during which he assaulted and battered the owner of the establishment, a person of color. This video was withheld from the public. There was no “hands up don’t shoot” moment and not even Eric Holder, Obama’s wing man, dared to use the argument. The sainted George Floyd was a reprise of the Brown story and Ilhan Omar justified her lack of interest in the Kirk shooting by noting that Kirk downplayed Floyd…and slavery. It is hard to downplay a career criminal and drug addict who died, not at the knee of Derek Chauvin, but of a drug overdose. The official autopsy report was dutifully ignored by the entirety of the media. The direct result of the Floyd fabrications was coast to coast violence with hundreds of police casualties and billions of dollars of property damage.
The events of January 6, 2021, have been so misrepresented by the media they have become reminiscent of the cinematic escapades of Cecil B. Demille. It has finally been admitted that there were at least 25 FBI assets in the mob that day…all wearing MAGA gear. J6 is used reflexively by the media to counter any inconvenient knavery committed by the minions of the Left.
Ronald Reagan was continually hectored about his age…he was 78 when he left office. Joe Biden was 75 when he took office and had showed symptoms of brain atrophy during his campaign. The media put out story after story about Biden being “sharp as a tack” even as he was dazedly wandering off-stage during Presidential events. Reagan was asked about his age in the 1984 Presidential debates. His response won the election. His opponent Walter Mondull was 17 years younger than Reagan but Reagan made it clear that he “would not make the youth and inexperience of his opponent a campaign issue”. Mondull laughed and Reagan won 49 states.
The media creates hatred and anger in the Democrat base which, in turn, seems to trigger a violent response…Charlie Kirk RIP, According to Ms. Omar free speech, Charlie Kirk style, is a capital crime.

The ultimate goal of the left is to get the word “Truth” banned from the dictionary, and relegated to the ash heap of “archaic” terms in the AI database. Our education system continues to cement into the mushy minds of our youth that “truth” and “facts” are subjective, Lies can only have the desired effect, if the audience is naive, uninformed, and unaccustomed to critical thinking.
