So with a bit of research it has been determined that there are many activities which are the functional equivalent of taking $100,000 and burning it in your fireplace. It would mean that you would realize no meaningful return on any investment. In short, an absolute waste of your money. For example, you could give it to Bernie Madoff to invest for you. Or you could make a contribution to the Martin O’Malley’s presidential campaign (he who added a new meaning to the term “one percenter”). Perhaps you could buy stock in a solar energy company enthusiastically backed by the Obama team. But the Number 1 waste of your money is paying the college tuition of a Bernie Sanders supporter. It would appear to any sensate observer that what tumbles out of the mouths of the average loyalist of Comrade Sanders is pure balderdash based on a solid foundation of ignorance. If Pavlov had had access to these folks he would not have needed dogs.
But it doesn’t stop there. Take, for example, Vann Jones, who was at one time the Special Advisor for green jobs to someone in the Obama administration, someone who was clearly desperate for guidance. We must assume this relates somehow to creating jobs in Ireland. Recently Jones was on one of the left-wing “news” channels explaining how the Ku Klux Klan was somehow involved with the Republican Party. The guest providing counterpoint to his foolish argument kept stating that the KKK was the militant arm of the party of Hilliary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. The last sitting Senator who had a role in the KKK was Robert Byrd (D), at one time the Senate Majority Leader. The last Supreme Court justice with a KKK legacy was Hugo Black, a lifelong member of the same party. Yet no matter how many times this FACT was provided Jones would merely repeat the misinformation with which he had been programmed. He is the modern equivalent of the Chatty Cathy doll…pull the ring on the back of his neck and get one of twelve, and only twelve, completely origin sayings. What was that definition of insanity again? Clearly Mr. Jones is comfortable with his manifest ignorance.
The latest effort to convince the world that they majored in ignorance relates to the use of the term “fascist”. When thrown about by the left it is a pejorative. In fact it is a left of center economic system. It is the application of the term dirigisme…economic planning and control by the state. In the 1920’s and 1930’s fascism was favored by the tragicomic dictator Benito Mussolini. It was, in fact, favored by a number of the followers of FPR who unabashedly admired Mussolini’s so-called economic miracle in Italy. It was used to defend the centralization of the US economy by FPR such that he could “save us from Communism”. Under fascism the state did not directly nationalize industry but rather controlled it through regulation much as we do today in the US. Hilliary Clinton would be best described a very greedy fascist.
The negative use of the term derives from the argument that Hitler was a fascist. This is, of course, a distraction as Hitler was a NAZI which was the National SOCIALIST Party. The left tends to want to avoid tarnishing the term socialism by having it associated with Hitler. But as the Hitler name has such a wonderfully Pavlovian impact the term fascism is used rather than Nazi. As such it is fair game to call Donald Trump a fascist. This is idiotic as Trump is an entertainer not a fascist. My guess is that he could not identify the term fascism other than as having something to do with Germany. The subtext of the use of the term is that the ignorant will then translate the meaning to brown shirts and an equal opportunity holocaust. Such is the logic of today’s college graduates. When they don’t have the facts they start calling names.
It is awe inspiring to watch the left transmogrify Hitler into a man of the right. He was clearly a leftist, a progressive even. But Hitler is the most versatile weapon available for ad hominen attacks. Basically he can be applied to anyone who disagrees with a progressive.
Then one wonders why there are no comparisons to Stalin. Stalin killed far more innocents than did Hitler but he had two attributes that endear him to the left: (1) he was a communist and is therefore ignored by the liberals and (2) he believed strongly in diversity. Whereas Hitler focused his genocidal enthusiasms on particular groups particularly Jews Stalin was an equal opportunity mass murderer and his victims were as diverse as any HR organization development plan.
This tactic allows the left to “justify” the disruption of political rallies for Trump. It allows them to explain the suppression of speech and activities which they don’t understand or agree with. Marvel please as they blame the violence they generate on Trump and his supporters. Listen in wonder as they avoid a discussion of the issues, relying instead on mindless rhymes which rarely, if ever, involve the use of polysyllabic words. Wind up a rent-a-demonstrator and send them off to chant the mantra de jour. In the 1960s it was something like: “Hey hey LBJ how many kids did you kill today”. Charming and mindless.
Now the talking heads (not thinking heads for certain) on the left begin to decry the corruption and degradation of political discourse in the America today. Say what! They who coarsen the dialogue have the temerity to blame it on others.
Ignorance…the new college major.
