Things to understand and think about…

The Roman Warming Period (RWP) was marked by temperatures higher than we have seen in the last 50 years. The RWP lasted roughly from 250 B.C. to 400 A.D. I think it is fair to conclude that the use of fossil fuels, the use of gas powered chariots and high world populations were not factors. The RWP was marked by the Golden Ages of Greece and Rome, early steps in the development of Western Civilization.

The Medieval Warming Period (MWP) was another time when temperatures were higher than we have seen in the last 50 years. It lasted roughly from 950 A.D. to 1250 A.D. It marked the end of the Dark Ages a period of “demographic, cultural, and economic deterioration”. Life was described as “ugly, brutish and short”. During the MWP the foundation of our legal and government system was established.

During the Ice Age, which occurred 20,000 years ago, there was 5,000 feet of ice on Albany, New York. I lived there as a child and never once did I race out the front door headlong into a wall of ice. It was gone thanks to global warming. Riddle me this…where did all that ice go…

So is global warming a bad thing?

Our latest warming period gave us Google, Facebook, Monica Lewinsky and Adam Schiff for brains…Darwin must be rethinking his theory!

In fact AOC has suggested that the corona-virus is caused by global climate change thereby confirming that she is uneducable.

How was the recent embarrassment that was the impeachment trial covered by the media? One media watchdog group found that the House managers received 95% favorable coverage whereas the far more impressive (and successful) Trump team received 100% negative coverage. Can we trust the main stream media to objectively “report” the news?

The Democrats accused our President of putting his personal interest (investigating the hapless Joe Biden) ahead of the national interest (the arming of Ukraine, ending the Obama arms famine). Alan Dershowitz raised the following proposition: Suppose in August 2012 there had been a confrontation brewing in Syria and the people in the region, including Israelis, were at risk. Obama plans to draw one of his invisible ink lines and is contemplating a military intervention. At that moment a Democrat pollster races breathlessly into the Oval Office to tell Obama that such a move could jeopardize his reelection. The President (not surprisingly) decides to head for the golf course.

Has he not put his personal interests (reelection and golf) ahead of the national interest (the protection of our allies)? Should there have been an impeachment charge?

Capitalism is being vilified by the likes of Comrade Sanders and Fauxchohontas. Adam Smith authored the primer on capitalism, Wealth of Nations, published coincidentally in 1776. He described capitalism as a selfish economic doctrine. Ayn Rand, author of Atlas Shrugged, also wrote a wonderful book entitled The Virtue of Selfishness. Rand is right but you must understand that to be successfully selfish, i.e.making gobs of money, you must provide a product or service that is fairly priced and of sufficient quality that people will want to pay for it. Unlike centralized economies capitalists can’t force people to buy their products or services. So capitalism is also selfless as it provides for the needs of the people. Compare and contrast Cuba and Venezuela. Although they do provide bread lines for the people/prisoners.

Note that people are fleeing those socialist paradises and heading for our borders.

The left prattles on endlessly about the so-called income disparity in America. A better measurement of our system is income mobility. A study was conducted by Robert Carroll, Senior Fellow at the Tax Foundation, comparing changes in income distribution from 1999 to 2007. The levels of income are usually divided into quintiles. It turns out that 60% of the people in the lowest quintile in 1999 had moved to a higher quintile in 2007. That is undeniably a good thing. Note that such economic mobility is much lower in countries that have strong central economic controls. Elect Bernie Sanders and we will all have an equal right to lower incomes. We recommend Rand Paul’s book The Case Against Socialism…devastating to the socialist case.

Did you know that seniors are the wealthiest demographic in the US? Luckily they get to have their prescriptions subsidized by the middle class, a much less wealthy group. Fairness?

Are you following the exploits of The Fool on Capitol Hill…Adam Schiff? He has denied yet again that he knows the identity of the so-called whistle blower, Eric Ciaramella. In fact Schiff made it clear that he “has never spoken to them“. Them? More than one?

The embarrassment to Harvard Law School also pointed out that the 6th Amendment is the “center wheel of the Bill of Rights”. Put aside that it makes no sense. The 6th Amendment is intended to protect the rights of the accused not the right of sanctimonious Harvardians to throw out baseless accusations. Perhaps we should check the constitution of Sierra Leone for support of his center wheel argument.

Watch the next Democrat debate and based on what you see write a definition of diversity. After all they are the party of diversity.

Google the name Claudette Colvin. You will find that she was the real Rosa Parks.

Lost in the shuffle of Barnum and Bailey’s impeachment circus was the fact that the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court has ruled that two of the four FISA warrants secured by the Comey, Brennan, Rosenstein team are INVALID. That changes the entire dynamic of the investigation of the Trump team. The victim of those warrants, Carter Page, has sued the DNC and the Perkins, Cooie law firm for violating his civil rights. Stay tuned.

Socialism requires two things: a blinding ignorance of economics and a matching ignorance of human nature.

This just in: Pinocchio was talking to a friend standing in front of a large window. He repeated one of Adam Schiff’s allegations. Fortunately no one was injured by the flying glass.

For those of you interested in pronounciation (I know there is no such word but it relates to this story) AOC called Rush Limbaugh “a virulent racist”. Unfortunately she used a long i in the first syllable. The left leaning media types translated this to mean that Limbaugh is a “violent” racist. Stupidity squared.

And our thoughts are with Limbaugh who is in the fight of his life. He richly deserves the Medal of Freedom that was presented at the State of the Union. There were the usual suspects who criticized giving the award to Limbaugh but please note that among the previous recipients are Robert Redford, Barbara Streisand, Elvis, Marlo Thomas and Madeleine Halfbright…all nominated by Obama. Unlike these other deserving recipients Limbaugh actually bent the curve of history!

The best withering riposte ever: Every Wednesday there are no holds barred debates between the Prime Minister and members of Parliament. Years ago Winston Churchill was challenged by a woman MP who told him that if he was her husband she would put poison in his tea. He responded with no hesitation: “Madam if you were my wife I would drink it”.
