Dystopia National Convention

Pop Quiz

Who said: “Underlying most arguments against the free market is a lack of belief in freedom itself.”

How about: For every alleged benefit that the politicians confer upon us, they must necessarily deprive us of something else.”

Nothing seems less understood than the meaning of the word “Progress”. The dictionary says it means to “develop a higher, better, or more advanced stage”. For decades the slogan used by GE was: “Progress is our most important product”. Perhaps the confusion began when GE replaced it with a new slogan: “We bring good things to life”. Many believed that the new slogan was more appropriate for an artificial insemination clinic.

It should follow that the term progressive would relate to, or be characterized by, progress. Such is not the case. In Seattle the Progressive movement gave us a glimpse of their political vision, the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) aka Capitol Hill Organized Protest (CHOP). The Progressive vision of the future seemed to be based on The Lord of the Flies. That story is, in fact, to the perceptive observer, the definition of regression. It does, however, accurately reflect the end game of Bernie Sanders, AOC and the Democrat party as manifested by the Democrat National Convention and their special needs presidential candidate, the hapless Joe Biden.

The Convention, which drew a smaller TV audience than a re-run of an episode of My Mother the Car, was a cavalcade of stale political bromides, factual distortions and overwhelming negativity. It was dystopian from start to finish. We must assume that sales of anti-depressants skyrocketed during the four day effort to avoid a discussion of any of the serious issues that our country faces. There is a great quote on a recent cartoon: “You want us to vote for Biden. Tell us why without mentioning Trump”.

Yet the sycophantic left wing media were positively orgasmic that Biden managed to read the teleprompter for twenty minutes with only a few gaffes. They did not comment on the fact that the Dems went four days without mentioning the violence in the streets of our major Democrat controlled cities. No discussion of the killing fields of Chicago mismanaged spectacularly by Mayor Lightweight who goes to sleep at night with a veritable SWAT team protecting her house and neighborhood. It allows her to plan the elimination of the city’s police force in complete safety and security.

We need to send relief to the exhausted fact checkers who had the job of tracking down all of Michelle Obama’s distortions, misstatements, and, dare I say, outright lies. Where was the analysis of Biden’s statement that Trump was the first racist to be elected President? Andrew Jackson, the first Democrat President, was a slave owner and orchestrated the Trail of Tears which banished the ancestors of Elizabeth Warren to the wilds of Oklahoma. Woodrow Wilson (D) re-segregated the Federal offices in Washington and LBJ (D) was a lifelong racist. All of these fine upstanding Democrats managed to elude his recollection. How could that happen? Silly me…my bad.

They allowed Andrew Cuomo Kevorkian to appear and congratulate himself for the efficiency with which he dispatched seniors to the death camps masquerading as Old Age Homes. Perhaps his appearance was intended to show off the fact that Cuomo is the Fidel Castro of governors, having created an armada of boat people escaping New York. It is ironic that he now realizes that he has destroyed the tax base of his state and he is inviting escapees back for dinner and drinks and to make tax contributions. Rumor has it that he is trying to find a way to tax people for the income they make while flying over New York.

The document that memorializes the agreement between Biden and Bernie for the future governance of our great nation is merely the Communist Manifesto expanded to 200 pages. Ten pages of description followed by 190 pages making it clear that it will never work. Then there was Martha Radatz on the verge of tears claiming that Trump was not qualified to be our Commander in Chief. If only he had been a community organizer. We got to witness the skills that a community organizer would bring to the Department of Defense when we saw the attention to military detail that marked the short lived CHOP/CHAZ nation in Seattle.

And how about the brilliance of that VP selection? Obama had the impossible mission of finding a VP candidate that was actually dumber than he is. After an exhaustive search they settled on one of the few people who met that CTQ…Joe Biden. The Democrats realized that it would actually be impossible to find someone dumber than Biden but they came very close. They settled on the paramour of Willie Brown. They were obviously mesmerized by the political acumen of Kamala Harris. She was after all the first primary candidate to drop out of the race, exiting before the first ballots were cast in Iowa. It is fun to watch them introduce her to Biden every time they see each other. You make so many new friends when you face a new reality each and every day.

And wasn’t it a treat to hear Bill Clinton speak the very day they aired the video of the former President receiving a massage from an under aged employee of the pimp extraordinaire, Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein was not available for comment having been a victim of Arkancide.

Mel Brooks could not have produced a better comedy than the Democrats did last week. Certainly he could not have made it more sardonic.

Here are some things to think about…

What is in a name? The FBI named the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s numerous felonies…illegal server, mishandling of classified documents, the destruction of subpoenaed documents to name a few…Midyear Exam. Sounds benign. Compare and contrast the name given to the unsuccessful investigation of the so-called Trump/Russia collusion which was based on the Steele dossier which they all understood had no factual basis…Crossfire Hurricane (taken from the Rolling Stones’ lyric in Jumpin’ Jack Flash). Sounds a bit scarier!

We have finally identified the largest bloc of racists in America. Not the cabinet of the Confederate States which was entirely comprised of former Democrats. Not the 75 remaining members of the KKK. Turns out white suburban housewives are womaning the front lines for Some Black Lives Matter (SBLM). Their position appears to be that the poor benighted Blacks can’t make it in our society without the maternal protections of these fine ladies. Once they learned that terms such as “individual responsibility” and “family values” are symbols of racist oppression it became clear as crystal that Blacks simply can’t make it on their own. So the next time you see a SBLM march/demonstration/riot note that the shock troops at the front are white suburban women helping those they perceive as unable to succeed in a world full of racist micro-aggressions.

It has been rumored that Bernie Sanders will, after Trump is re-elected, become the Commissioner of the NBA. He has identified the action items on his agenda. He has determined that there is a serious income disparity. Stephan Curry makes $43,006,382 while Luguentz Dort makes a paltry $1,517,981. Effective immediately all players will make the league average salary of about $6 million. Sanders was horrified to learn that the Nike shoes worn by every NBA player are made by Uighur slave labor in China. Effective immediately all players will wear Curiama sneakers. Sanders has reviewed the league demographics and will be making changes immediately. He wants at least one little person to be on an NBA roster. There are not enough whites, Hispanics or Asians on NBA rosters. The numbers should be reflective of the US population. It was noted that there were no handicap parking places in the player parking area. Effective immediately at least five handicapped players must be included on the league rosters. The NBA going forward will be fair and equal!

The quotes are by Milton Friedman and Henry Hazlitt.

  3. Another great post. It triggered one of my long held beliefs, to wit:
Historically, the dems have been immensely more effective in “naming” activities, groups, legislation, movements and political positions, than Republicans.
    Some examples:
“The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act” which did neither, but immediately convinced millions they wanted it. The bill would have gone nowhere had they correctly named it “U.S Postal Service Quality Healthcare Act.”
“Black Lives Matter” and who could disagree with that? Except it means everything but “black lives matter.” Again, it would gain no traction had they aptly called it “Toward a Marxist America and the End of the Rule of Law”
“Planned Parenthood”, which has nothing to do with planning for parenthood or good parenting, as the name implies. It would have been totally ineffective however, had they called the service what it really is; “Irresponsible Mistake Remediation” or “Kill It Before It Cries Counseling”
    “Affirmative Action”…hmmm!
However, without debate, their crowning achievement is the label “progressive.” In a word Dems found a moniker that instantly attracted millions of the “stupid and ignorant”, and convinced them they will make things better. That and its longevity earn it the epitome of great “titling” award.
I would call all of these misnomers, but I don’t think misnomers, traditionally have had an “intentionality” component.
My point is simply that Republicans can pick up a lot of low hanging fruit with a little more focus on descriptors.

P.S. Hurrah! I finally got one…Milton Freedman. But sadly, I must admit I had never heard of Henry Hazlitt

    • Read Hazlitt an Austrian School economist. Economics in one lesson is his signature piece. I think the worst political label is Progressive…because it is the exact reverse of its meaning
