A friend related a story about the reaction of an employee (the word worker has no application in this context) of a Federal agency when it was suggested the the Deep State was a threat to the Republic…an exaggerated eye roll and the dismissive comment: “You actually believe there is a deep state?????”
The definition of the Deep State is itself almost contemptuous: an alleged secret network of non-elected government officials and sometimes private entities (as in the financial services and defense industries) operating extra legally to influence and enact government policy. The use of the “alleged” is intended to suggest that references to such a concept spring from paranoid delusion, emanating from the fever swamps inhabited by people one disagrees with. More importantly dismissing the concept requires a willful ignorance of history and the world around us, including a complete disregard for Lord Acton’s dictum: “Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely”.
Our founders created a republican government based on a number of principles, among them decentralized power and transparency. Those quaint concepts have been relegated to the ash heap of history. This rejection of our founding principles is disturbing and, based on what follows, we must reestablish our government of, by and for the people.
The success of a Deep State requires government functionaries who: (1) are unelected and unaccountable; (2) have an eagerness to accumulate power; (3) possess an exaggerated self-importance; (4) perceive themselves to be intellectually superior: and, (5) have an oversized sense of moral superiority. Recent examples of such operatives include: James Comey, Lisa Page, Peter Strzok, Lois Lerner, Chuck Schumer and many Federal District Court judges.
Recent history has also shown that the Deep State requires leaders who are willing to deflect attention from the day-to-day work of a supporting cast of devoted loyalists who populate the bureaus, agencies and departments that run the government. In the last two decades we have two cardboard cutout figurehead leaders, Presidents Obama and Biden, who provided the necessary deflection of attention. As President Trump was not a part of the confidence game the Deep State has been forced to emerge from behind the wizard’s curtain to protect the entire enterprise.
Background
The administration of Theodore Roosevelt got the ball rolling with the misguided belief that a cadre of Harvard graduates was best qualified to manage the Federal government. TR was burdened with a perception that a Harvard degree was a guaranty of “intellectual superiority”. His ego driven decision to run as a third party candidate in 1912 ensured the election of Woodrow Wilson who, like TR, was a Progressive and Wilson was driven by an “exaggerated self-importance” and an unquenchable “eagerness to accumulate power”.
Wilson gave us several foundational pieces of the Deep State: the Internal Revenue Service and he enhanced the power of the FBI that had been created in 1908, ironically under the Attorney General named Charles Bonaparte. He also created the Federal Reserve which in turn, in less than a decade, gave us the Great Depression. In 1947 Truman added yet another weapon to the establishment, the CIA.
In 1933 Theodore’s cousin, FDR, took office and the bureaucracy grew like Topsy. The absence of accountability is an earmark of this administrative network and their operations are terminally light sensitive as the DOGE team has lately discovered. A required attribute of the heads of this array of intrusive agencies is megalomania…an unnaturally strong wish to hold power and control…which, in turn, fosters the belief that you are very much more important and powerful than you really are. This is now apparent as we have come to know the mediocrities that populated the Obama and Biden administrations.
The Dream
It has always been the ambition of authoritarian rulers to “conquer” the world. Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, Napoleon, Hitler, Stalin and Mao were all obsessed with making the world a better place by forcing every living soul to embrace their political theories. Each failed to achieve their egotistical visions. The modern enthusiasts of world conquest are known as “one worlders”.
Today the “one worlders” operate under the auspices of the United Nations and the World Economic Forum. The foot soldiers of these organizations are the unelected and unaccountable petty bureaucrats that populate the US Federal government and the European Union. It is instructive to read the United Nations Sustainable Development plan know as Agenda 21. It is the playbook for the likes of Klaus Schwab and George Soros and they take full advantage of the ignorant and willing media, social and news, to act as cheerleaders and deflector shields as to what is actually happening. Trump is seen as the spoiler of these grand visions.

Identify an issue that can be spun as sinister, an existential threat to all that we deem sacred and requires immediate and unquestioned action by the government, for example:
Covid Pandemic Panic
The Chinese Communist Party (the same group of thugs that Joe McCarthy warned us about in the 1950s) created a weapon of mass destruction at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and intentionally unleashed it on an unsuspecting world. They were aided and abetted by Deep State agents in the US (Dr. Anthony Fauci and friends) and in the EU. They demonstrated how easily the ignorant masses could be terrorized and reduced to Hamelin rodents. They engaged in worldwide censorship to ensure the truth was stifled. They forced untested, dangerous and, as it turned out, ineffective. vaccines on a gullible population claiming it would provide protection against a virus that has a 99.99% survival rate. They manipulated data to increase the perceived risk.
The endgame was that they used the phony pandemic to steal the 2020 presidential election.
The Suppression of Trump and MAGA
The game plan requires that America be reduced in status from a bastion of individual freedom and limited government to a wholly owned subsidiary of the World Economic Forum. This explains the fear and loathing on the Left when they hear any reference to Make America Great Again or see a red hat…to them it is the equivalent of a cross held up to drive Dracula away. The entire Steele Dossier driven Russian collusion hoax has been exposed as a Clinton campaign exercise. Then, having failed to drive Trump out of office, it morphed into a 2021 FBI operation, aka the January 6 “insurrection”. The practice run for that FBI exercise was the completely bogus Whitmer kidnap plot in Michigan which, in the end, had more FBI assets involved than innocent would be kidnappers. A number of the FBI dramatis personae in Michigan materialized, as if by magic, in Washington as part of the January 6 charade. We now know that there were at least 25 FBI “assets” in the crowd on Capitol Hill that day.
Trump is, you see, an existential threat to Democracy itself.
Anthropogenic Climate Change
This “scientific” charade is the bedrock of almost every government policy supported by the Left. An entire chapter of the Agenda 21 UN manifesto is devoted to “Protection of the Atmosphere”. An entire generation of American students has been conditioned to believe that our planet will become a burning cinder if we don’t completely reject all carbon based energy. Bill Gates, a bastion of scientific ignorance, believes that the entire population of the Earth MUST be reduced to 800 million people. In 2023 it was estimated to be be about 8 billion. As such this would require the elimination of 7.2 billion people…and you can bet the ranch that Gates would not be among those being euthanized.
Yet there is no credible evidence that the activities of humans have any measurable impact on the climate. The media and government officials constantly confuse correlation with causation. In fact all climate change is natural and cyclical. The next time you encounter a climate crisis zealot pose the following set of facts: 15,000 years ago there was 5,000 feet of glacial ice on Albany, New York. It is gone, vanished, melted in fact. It melted because of, gasp, global warming. Then ask the zealot how many carbon based power plants existed, how many automobiles were on the road and how many air conditioners were humming along back then. As there were none ask what caused the warming. Hint: The sun is involved.
Anthropogenic climate change is a product of the Deep States fear mongers and it serves one purpose only…it is a tool to control the masses. This is the sine qua non of the one worlders, the authoritarians, the entire kakistocracy,,,the antidote is education and the free exchange of ideas…two concepts that the Deep State opposes hammer and cycle.
