Proofs of a Conspiracy

Conspiracies old and new…

In 1958 Robert Welch established the John Birch Society, It was the prototype for all chamber of horrors conspiracy theories. John Birch, a Baptist missionary, was alleged to have been the first casualty in the war against worldwide Communist totalitarianism. Welch wrote a book in 1963, The Politician, which put forth the proposition the Dwight Eisenhower was an agent of the Communist conspiracy. Russell Kirk, a conservative pundit, provided a withering riposte: “Eisenhower is not a Communist, he is a golfer.” The Birch Society published another book, entitled The Actor, which argued that John Foster Dulles was also part of the conspiracy. You can still buy these books and they are delivered with free tin foil hats.

From its inception The John Birch Society was the subject of dismissive ridicule but they never received the excoriation that was delivered upon Senator Joe McCarthy. McCarthyism was the ultimate political pejorative. McCarthy’s cardinal sin was trying to expose Communist skullduggery that became public policy. He was challenging the credibility and patriotism of Federal employees. “Have you no sense of decency?” It was believed that McCarthy was destabilizing our government.

Ultimately McCarthy was excommunicated by the establishment.

The Birch Society put much stock in a book entitled Proofs of a Conspiracy by John Robison. They gave the book additional cachet by creating a story that the only copy of the book had been stolen from the Library of Congress as part of the plot to hide the roots of the Communist scourge. The premise of the book was that the Communist desire to overthrow the US government is merely another chapter in an almost 200 year conspiracy engineered by those who support a one world government. The seed for this conspiracy theory was Babeuf’s Conspiracy for Equality which was a subset of the French Revolution. Francoise-Noel Babeuf is identified as a French proto-communist revolutionary during the French Revolutionary period. The Babeuf conspiracy was documented by the grand-nephew of Michelangelo Buonarroti (he of Sistine Chapel ceiling fame), Philippe Buonarroti in Buonarroti’s History of Babeuf’s Conspiracy For Equality.

Babeuf has been uniformly ignored by history..

After the French Revolution the great conspiracy goes into hibernation until 1848 when a German writer named Karl Marx, a failure at all he ever tried, publishes the Communist Manifesto and breathes life back into the dormant conspiracy. This simple event leads directly to V.I. Lenin, Joseph Stalin and the pantheon of totalitarian leaders who cobble together the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and systematically murder between 20 and 40 million of the their own citizens. The USSR is the single most destabilizing influence in the 20th Century. Apologists for the Soviet devastation litter the landscape.

All of this comes to an abrupt conclusion when Ronald Reagan challenges Mikhail Gorbachev to “tear down this wall”. The Berlin Wall fell without a shot being fired. The Soviet Union turned out to be a paper tiger.

It should be a happy ending to the entire story but no one counted of The Democrats, Fusion GPS and Christopher Steele. This gaggle of duplicitous miscreants revived the great conspiracy to confront the nomination, and subsequent election, of Donald Trump. Again we have all the elements of a dark and fearsome conspiracy…an evil Communist villain, prostitutes peeing on beds, Russian hackers working diligently to alter the outcome of the 2016 election and, according to Adam Schiff-for-brains, evidence that Trump is Vladimir Putin’s Manchurian candidate “hiding in plain sight”. Ignore the fact the Schiff produced no compelling evidence and the multi-million dollar boondoggle that was the Mueller investigation found nothing to support the latest version of the Communist conspiracy.

During Trump’s first term he was under continuous attack, lives were ruined and the nattering nabobs of negativism (the left wing media) were provided all the disinformation, perfidious as it turned out, they needed to defame Team Trump. These efforts successfully destabilized the Trump Administration and, as intended, led to his defeat in 2020.

Now a new conspiracy has been uncovered and Tulsi Gabbard brought the receipts. The term “Russian Collusion” has become part of the national lexicon. The story has all the elements of a Hitchcock espionage thriller: an evil villain (Donald Trump), an enchanting and sympathetic victim (Hilliary Clinton), counterfeit documents (the Steele dossier), a nest of duplicitous henchmen (the intelligence? community), dishonest investigations (Schiff and Mueller), false court submissions (FISA warrants), altered documents (Carter Page CIA letter), perjurious testimony (Brennan and Clapper), a host of willing accomplices (the media, news and social) and a vainglorious and corrupt choreographer (Barack Obama). In all a “wretched hive of scum and villainy”.

We now know, thanks to the DNI, that a meeting was held at the White House on December 8, 2017, 31 days after the election Trump, for the purpose of crippling the new administration. There was no legitimate purpose for this meeting. The election was over and the result accepted by Congress and the people. The great unanswered question is why the lame duck President felt the need to take the action he did. One hopes that Benedict Obama will be asked that question under oath.

The linchpin of the plan was the Steele dossier which was a confection of the Clinton campaign. The participants knew is was unverified and that the claims in it could not be corroborated. Nonetheless the sitting President directed the assembled conspirators to rewrite the intelligence assessment to reach the desired conclusion…that Russian interference was real, significant and that Trump was a pawn of Vladimir Putin. The conspirators complied with the President’s wishes and for three long years it was the narrative of the willing apparatchiks in the media. General Flynn was defamed and driven into bankruptcy. Clapper and Brennan testified, under oath, that the Steele dossier was not part of the new assessment. This was basically a bloodless attempted coup designed to unseat a duly elected President. A shameful event.

However the fallout is not without a tsunami of hilarious reactions. The leftist pundits who carried the water for the conspirators are turning themselves into pretzels trying to defend the indefensible and to excuse, in the process, the corrupt behavior of Saint Barack.

And speaking of the Communist conspiracy…one political tool of the destabilization of our government is the growth of the power and influence of the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). The NGO is a tool of the bureaucratic state used to disburse our tax dollars, without oversight or accountability, to various ill-defined programs around the world. USAID was the biological parent of a plethora of NGOs. It is interesting to note that the term “Non-governmental organization” was first used in Article 71 of the United Nations Charter. Alger Hiss was one of the founding fathers of the UN and he was also a documented agent of the USSR. QED
