Our Moral Compass…RIP?

Pop Quiz:

What American humorist said: “It is curious that physical courage should be so common in the world and moral courage so rare.”?

What religious leader said: “We are moving toward a dictatorship of relativism which does not recognize anything as for certain and which has as its highest goal one’s own ego and one’s own desires.”?

What British author said: “The American elite is almost beyond redemption. . . . Moral relativism has set in so deeply that the gilded classes have become incapable of discerning right from wrong. There is no other option.”?

What American economist said: “An e-mail from a reader says that liberals like to take the moral high ground, even though their own moral relativism means that there is no moral high ground.”?

Answers at the end of the post.

Several years ago a post on this site described a sign in the window of a pawn shop in New York: For sale. Chuck Schumer’s Moral Compass…Never Used. That cynical observation seems have taken on a more serious relevance in the 21st Century. America’s Moral Compass may have lost its true North. Recent events suggest that we need to renew our understanding of the moral values on which this nation was built.

The last post suggested that our Individual Freedom is being diminished by an increasingly authoritarian ruling class. Sadly the loss of our liberties is being greeted with lethargy and indifference. The loss of both Individual Freedom and our societal morality will likely hasten the relegation of the American dream to the dustbin of history;

Let us consider…

Lindsay Clancy

This demonic “human being” concocted a two part plan: Step one: murder her three children ages 5, 3 and 8 months; Step two: commit suicide. Had she reversed the order of the steps we would not be discussing the case. Ms. Clancy hails from Duxbury, a town south of Boston. She is in two senses a Mass murderer. The present issue, however, is the reaction to the post natal abortion of three innocent children.

A jury was empaneled which was comprised of eleven AWFULs (Affluent White Female Urban Leftists) and a lone male. The defense made the argument that the defendant should be found not guilty by reason of postpartum depression which apparently has a half life of at least five years. In 2026 approximately 3.7 million babies were born in America. Almost all had the good fortune not to have been delivered by Ms. Clancy.

All eleven women on the jury bought into this “mental disorder”. The one male refused to follow the herd and held out for a guilty verdict. The Left was initially paralyzed, much like Ms. Clancy, because the holdout was not only male, but also Black. One of the female jurors was aghast that this mere man couldn’t “get past the fact that she killed her children.” A large crowd of bidiots gathered outside the courthouse daily to lend their support for the murderess.

How can this not be seen as proof of the loss of our Moral Compass?

Charlies Kirk

Charlie Kirk was, by all objective measures, a good human being. He conducted open meetings with college students across the country and he challenged the participants to “Prove Me Wrong”. He was a firm believer in civil discourse. His mistake was to openly embrace Classical Liberalism. The videos of his campus appearances were contentious but never unruly…with one exception. That would be the one at Utah Valley University where he was murdered by a deranged Leftist. No evidence has been proffered that Tyler Robinson was suffering from postpartum depression.

The reaction of the amoral Leftist driftwood to his murder has been unhinged, puerile and pejorative. The Left has cultivated a culture of assassination. Apparently merely disagreeing with Charlie Kirk’s various philosophical positions makes justifiable homicide a valid defense. There have been polls showing a large swath of Americans believe that the assassination of Trump and Musk would be “morally” justified.. We are likely to see a new defense offered up to explain such irrational violence…Post Trump Election Depression.

Need evidence…in Alexandria a sign generated by a local artist was publicly displayed. It read: Charlie Kirk was a Piece of S**t”, without the asterisks. That strikes many as hyperbolic.

How can the reaction to his murder not be seen as proof of the loss of our Moral Compass?

Israel or Hamas

Anti-Judaism is making a startling comeback. The events of October 7, 2023, are indefensible. The troglodytes of Hamas invaded Israel and inflicted unspeakable terror on a civilian population. In response the Left resorts to moral equivalence which is a “logical fallacy that compares two things to make them seem equally good or bad.” The Israeli retaliation and efforts to free the hundreds of Israeli civilians kidnapped by Hamas is conflated with the invasion of Israel by Hamas.

In the aftermath protesters in Australia chant “Gas the Jews” in front the Sydney Opera House. The juxtaposition is jarring. Privileged students on American campuses mindlessly chant “From the river to the sea, Palestine shall be free”. The fact that this would require a new Shoah with the elimination of the State of Israel is lost on these vacuous “students” who are apparently allergic to learning. Mamdani threatens to arrest Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, if he ever sets foot in the Village of New York. Let it be known that Mamdani speaks with great authority as he has been duly elected Idiot of that village. And the city council performs YMCA regularly at public events.

How can a reprise of Nazi enthusiasms not be seen as proof of the loss of our Moral Compass?

Remember Kate Steinle who died in her father’s arms in San Francisco after she was shot by an illegal alien who was convicted, wait for it, of possession of an illegal firearm. He was deported.

Luigi Mangione is a spoiled egocentric child who took it upon himself to address the pressing problem of the excessive denial of medical insurance claims. He chose to murder the CEO of United Healthcare. He became the heartthrob of many young women who fantasized about having his children to ensure Murder, Inc. had a full employee pipeline. He garnered more than one million dollars in contributions to his defense fund. He has confessed to the crime.

States like California give Commercial Drivers Licenses to immigrants, many illegal, who cannot speak English or read traffic signs. The result has been a number of easily avoidable traffic fatalities. The Left also turns a blind eye to voting by illegal aliens and fights deportation of criminals, even murderers.

It may be necessary to define Moral Compass for those citizens who were subjected to our public schools. A Moral Compass is “an internal sense of right and wrong that helps you guide your ethical decisions”. However, as set forth above many Americans have chosen, like Senator Schumer, to eschew any facsimile of a Moral Compass. Too many of those Americans are elected officials.

This is intolerable and we must re-establish the moral foundation of our our Republic. MAMA…Make America Moral Again.
