Franz Kafka Come on Down

“They’re talking about things of which they don’t have the slightest understanding, anyway. It’s only because of their stupidity that they’re able to be so sure of themselves.” Franz Kafka

This post is intended to help you think about the state of “justice” in America today. We are becoming Kafkaesque. With this in mind let us explore the strange odyssey that has befallen General Michael Flynn.

Background

In the middle of the 2016 presidential campaign some Democrat genius (oxymoron alert) decided that they needed to go to DEFCON 1 to ensure that Trump would not be able to beat the incredibly long odds his candidacy faced. A plan was hatched based on precisely nothing to tie Trump to Putin in a conspiracy to steal the US election.

In 2014 General Flynn was fired from his position as head of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) under President Obama. We now know that he fell out of favor because he openly opposed the ludicrous Iran deal that was being negotiated by Obama. Remember that this was an “Agreement” and not a treaty so as to avoid the Constitutional requirement of Senate approval. The deal involved sending $1.7 billion to Iran to help finance world terrorism. But Flynn engaged in political blasphemy by challenging Pope Barack I. He simply had to go.

But Obama is very catty and carries a grudge. He took time out of busy schedule prepping for his March Madness bracketology to discourage Trump from hiring Flynn because that dog had bitten his previous master. Trump, with his usual regard for bad advice, promptly named Flynn to be his National Security Advisor. It can safely be assumed that Obama did not take this well.

A number of individuals, including Andrew McCarthy https://www.nationalreview.com/2020/05/flynn-and-the-anatomy-of-a-political-narrative/, opined that the entire Obama team was fearful that if Flynn joined the Trump administration as part of the new intelligence team he could undermine the Russian collusion story that a group of hucksters led by Comey, Brennan and Clapper were feverishly peddling.

The Sting

The FBI leadership swung into action and put together a plan to “get Flynn to lie” so he would be “fired” or worse. This is known because one of the provocateurs actually took notes during a meeting in Comey’s Wolf’s Lair. The entire bit of chicanery was based on a phone call between Flynn and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak which was captured in the normal course of events by Federal eavesdroppers. The transcript of this call was discussed in a meeting in the Oval Office on January 5, 2017, hosted by Obama and his senile Vice President Joe Biden.

We now know that before and after (Biden couldn’t figure out what to do until January 12) that meeting some 39 Obama lickspittles made 49 requests to unmask the American who spoke to Kislyak. Question to be answered: How did this vast cabal know about the call in order to request the unmasking?

At least one member of this nest of vipers managed to get the transcript after the meeting with Obama and in short order it was leaked to the media. Question to be answered: Who leaked the transcript to the Washington Post? This was a felony by the way.

Setting the Hook

Comey’s plan was simplicity itself. Sneak a couple of FBI agents into the White House to “interview” Flynn. The agents never cleared the meeting with the White House legal team and never bothered to suggest that Flynn might want to avail himself of legal counsel. The agents had access to the Kislyak transcript and they were trolling for any deviation between Flynn’s contemporaneous comments and the transcript especially as it related to the subject of Obama’s sanctions against Russia. In all it was an extraordinary chain of events which Comey bragged he “would not have gotten away with in a more organized administration”.

The agents prepared the required 302s but contrary to the plan they concluded that Flynn was NOT lying. In fact the original 302 Flynn states that he did not remember discussing sanctions with Kislyak but could not be certain. That is a normal response by a normal person. Flynn is clearly not a Hilliary class prevaricator. Alas that normal response became the basis for the charge that he lied to the FBI. It turns out that the nefarious Peter Strzok kept the sting going by refusing to close the Flynn
investigation. It also appears that the 302 was altered and the original was only recently provided to the new Flynn legal team. Question to be answered: Why is there no investigation of all of the FBI’s machinations?

The Hammer

Flynn is driven into bankruptcy by the legal costs incurred at the hands of his legal team, Covington and Burling. Please note that Eric Holder, the only US Attorney General to be held in contempt of Congress and Obama’s wing man, is associated with the Covington firm. Flynn was forced to sell his house but it wasn’t until the DOJ threatened to take legal action against his son that Flynn agreed to plead guilty of lying to the FBI. The word for this is extortion. In addition the plea agreement called for no jail time. Once signed the DOJ changed the game and demanded jail time. Question to be answered: Will Covington and Burling be thoroughly investigated because of their inadequate representation of General Flynn?

New Counsel Takes Over

In 2019 Flynn dropped Covington and hired Sidney Powell author of a great book entitled Licensed to Lie. She exposed a host of legal irregularities and there began to appear cracks in the case against her client. Documents had been withheld by the government in violation of the Brady Rule and Covington had failed to make available documents that might have helped Flynn’s defense. Her argument was beautifully simple: the call with Kislyak was a perfectly normal part of the transition from Obama to Trump, the transcript does not show any illicit actions by Flynn and the FBI had initially concluded that Flynn did NOT lie. Other than that Mrs. Lincoln how was the play?

The DOJ has now withdrawn the charges and asked for a dismissal. However the second rate judge has refused to accept the dismissal. He has brought in a retired judge who has already demonstrated a bias against Flynn to argue against the DOJ and Powell. A new theory has been floated that would make Lewis Carroll proud. When Flynn plead guilty he accepted the charges and did so under penalty of perjury. As such his withdrawal makes the original guilty plea perjurious. When the white knight is talking backwards and the red queen’s off with her head. (White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane).

Flash Forward

Thanks to Richard Grenell the entire deep state conspiracy is being exposed. Adam Schiff continues to downgrade the value of a Harvard degree and may replace Pinocchio in the popular bedtime story. In addition many process questions cry out for answers.

It turns out the deep state miscreants all lied about the Trump-Putin collusion story. Grenell released the transcripts of the interviews conducted in Schiff’s secret Star Chamber in the House basement. The very same “intelligence” officials that continue to repeat the myth all testified, under oath, that there was not a shred of evidence supporting the claim of collusion. Undaunted Schiff for brains refuses to back down from his endless repetition of his mantra that there is more than enough rock solid, irrefutable, plain as the nose on your face evidence…confirming that he is deluded. Question to be answered: Will there be consequences for those like Comey, Brennan and Clapper who lied to Congress?

The FISA warrants signed by Comey and McCabe have been tagged as invalid for want of verification. It is now clear that the Steele Dossier, a work of fiction, was relied on extensively by the affiants in support of the FISA warrants. We now know for a fact that the Dossier was paid for by the DNC and the Clinton campaign. Somehow these facts eluded the folks submitting the warrant applications. The 302 for Carter Page was altered by a government lawyer by adding the word “not” in a declarative sentence which appears to have completely altered the meaning of a key sentence. Question to be answered: Will anyone suffer for their acts of perjury in supporting the warrant requests?

Apparently the integrity challenged John Brennan had also come across intelligence that suggested that Russia wanted Hilliary to win in 2016. Duh! Of course Putin would have preferred a round heeled mistress of duplicity. Brennan however chose to suppress the Russian Hilliaryphilia because it conflicted with the Putin-Trump Bromance angle. Question to be answered: Will Brennan ever face hostile questioning regarding his duplicity?

How did 39 people in the Obama administration get wind of the Flynn-Kislyak phone call? Are there electronic signs placed around the White House scrolling sensitive information? Why would the Ambassador to Italy be making requests to unmask Flynn? Doesn’t 49 requests seem to be overkill? Perhaps they were all jockeying to get a belly scratch from Obama for their initiative. In short the whole thing stinks. Time to neuter the deep state and require the Federal government to operate in the cleansing glow of sunlight. Let’s ask General Flynn to manage that task!

When you access that Andrew McCarthy article referenced above please note the picture of the scalawags who confected the entire anti-Trump agenda. Look closely at our sainted ex-President (I love to say that about Obama) and you will see a look of utter boredom. Valerie Jarrett addressed this issue by pointing out that we all had to understand that Obama was the smartest person in the room and had trouble lowering himself to the level of mere mortals. That is absolutely true if Obama is alone in the room. But look again and you will see the look of an English Springer Spaniel…seeing everything and comprehending nothing.

  1. A very sad read with a relevant punchline to this whole scandal: other than that Mrs. Lincoln how was the play?

  2. And wasn’t the Flynn “interview” conducted as part of an “investigation” into Logan Act violations? This act that prohibits private persons from conducting foreign policy or some such? But more importantly an act from around 1800s under which there has been no prosecution? And FBI was investigating this with respect to the designated national security advisor. Hardly a private person by this time. That fails the reasonable person test.

But to answer your question about when any of the questions you raise above will be investigated… the answer is never. There’s no republican other than trump who is going to risk angering moderates, upsetting the press or threaten future lobbying contracts or Lucrative board seats To press any of these issues.

The system is corrupt to the core when the opposition to the Democratic Party/msm won’t even confront Them about obvious criminality and abuse of power.

    It’s time to start over.

      Great Ideas – – – – need great people
When I began this venture into politics, I was well aware of the level of people I would meet and knew that most of them would be capable people who could think and do think. I am one of those people so I thought it would be an excellent arena in which I can discuss with people the ideas I had for a better America, ideas I did not think anyone had ever voiced and, upon reading and re-reading my thoughts, I could not come to any conclusion except I should show these ideas to our political leadership and let them determine their value.
It may have been that I was self-aggrandizing thinking I actually had some value to give to my country but, more likely, no self-aggrandizing is needed. My ideas and programs are great!
And then came the shock. I was told outright by local political officials that there is no real communication set-up that goes from the lower level politicians to the upper level politicians so getting an idea to make America better from the bottom levels to the top levels is not going to happen. And then I was told that even if an idea did somehow go up the ladder, someone along the way would steal it, say it was his and the originator would be lost.
That would not do. It was the idea that was important, not the credit for it. It was saving America that was important since no one seemed to be capable or desirous of doing that.
I had been asking for months to have someone look at my suggestions. After all, they were detailed, complete and totally written out so there would be little need for questions
However, whatever questions that would be raised, I had the answers.
Nada. No one even asked or mentioned anything; not even a courtesy acknowledgement that I existed and asked for an evaluation.
That alone was blatant evidence of a fractured Republican Party and one doomed to lose.
      I knew I could save it . . . dare I say easily?
